Major Account Representative

HotBed Technologies has immediate openings for experienced Account Managers in the DC Metro area. This is a tremendous way for a talented professional to advance their career in an extremely fast-paced and growing technology industry.

There is no cap on commissions with unlimited income potential. Aggressive compensation plan with monthly commissions can put you on track for a total yearly income of $120K-$200K+.

Responsible for acquiring and maintaining new business opportunities by selling complete Carrier Services and AV solutions to medium to large organizations in the DC Metro area and beyond. Leverage HotBed Technologies complete technology offering to ensure individual success and meet the organization’s business objectives.

Critical duties:

  • Identify, qualify and close new strategic accounts.
  • Develop and pursue an overall account plan to maximize opportunities and leverage our integrated solutions offering within key accounts.
  • Effectively communicate and present to all executive levels of an organization HotBed’s complete value proposition.
  • Lead negotiations, coordinate complex decision-making process, and overcome objections to capture new business opportunities.
  • Develop new leads through persistent cold calling and Internet research
  • Proactively develop sales techniques to effectively identify and quantify strong, qualified new business opportunities.
  • Consistently portray a professional image in all communications to potential customers.
  • Proactively enter and track all leads and contacts through Web-based Sales Tool(s).


  • 3-5 years professional selling experience in high-tech or service related industry.
  • Proven track record of consistently exceeding corporate objectives and quotas.
  • Strong presentation, communication, organization, and time management skills.
  • Ability to build relationships and quickly develop trust with C-level executives.
  • Solid problem solving and consultative skills required.
  • Self driven, motivated and results oriented.
  • Bachelor’s Degree (B.S.) from four-year college or university preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of IT products and services.

A/V Field Installation and Service Technician

The position requires some travel throughout the US.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Installation, configuration, integration and test of audiovisual equipment (videoconferencing, multimedia, audiovisual, projection systems, displays, cameras, microphones, integrated A/V systems, document cameras, streaming technologies, etc.) and collaboration technologies
  • Integration and configuration of A/V equipment with Crestron and AMX control systems
  • Conduct onsite user and administrative training to customers on the operation of installed equipment, software and networks
  • Integration, test, configuration and trouble-shooting of IP and ISDN networks in support of videoconferencing and A/V equipment
  • Provide support to HotBed’s Helpdesk by trouble-shooting A/V equipment and network issues through to resolution
  • Conduct customer site surveys and provide sales engineering support
  • Prepare detailed installation, trouble-ticket reports and maintenance of customer service profiles


  • 3-5 years of related experience in support and trouble-shooting of videoconferencing and A/V technologies and networks
  • BA or BS degree desired and/or equivalent work experience
  • Strong knowledge of videoconferencing systems required
  • Demonstrated experience installing and configuring videoconferencing systems along with MCUs, gateways, gatekeepers, and infrastructure hardware and software
  • Knowledge and familiarity with the installation, configuration and trouble-shooting of Crestron and AMX control systems
  • Demonstrated knowledge of H.323, H.320 and SIP networks
  • Working knowledge of videoconferencing¬† standards
  • VoIP and networking experience a plus
  • Strong customer service and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and exercise good judgment
  • CAD and Visio skills a plus
  • Strong project management skills, detailed oriented and ability to handle multiple tasks
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Solid problem solving and consultative skills in a fast paced environment
